Senior Program Offerings

Programs begin as early as June following Junior Year

College Admissions Process booklet

  • One hour meering with student and family to review the college admissions process.  Understand what colleges will look for, holistic review, admissions strategy (Early Action, Early Decision, and Regular Decision).  Senior year timeline included.

 

Letter of Recommendation Strategy

  • Which teachers to ask and why, when and how to make requests, what information to provide for a personalized rec letter.

Resume Development

  • Template provided to organize activities and accomplishments in an easy-to-read format.  Preparation for Common App activities section and to upload to colleges that accept resumes.

College List

  • Build upon current list based on potential areas of study and other parameters including location, academics, environment and cost.  Ensure balanced list of reach, target and likely colleges.

 

Application Management

  • Understand requirements for all colleges.  Understand Early Action, Early Decision, Rolling Admissions, and Regular Decision.  Choose best application process for each college based on student goals and readiness.  Develop timeline for prioritizing applications.

  • Determine Application Platform for each college: Common App, Coalition, Institutional Application, state specific applications.

 

Common App

  • Common App overview and tutorial.  How and when to complete each section.  Maximize space and understand information to include.

 

College Planner Pro Online Student Portal

  • Students and parents have access to an on-line portal to maintain college list and admissions timeline for all applications.  Learn about college profiles including costs, likely merit aid, test scores, Fiske Guide review, peer schools, campus videos, essay requiremtns, and much more.  Understand "what are my chances?" of acceptance.

 

Essays – Main Essay and up to 6 supplemental essays

  • Initial two-hour Essay Brainstorming Session to determine best topic and create rough draft.  Follow up meetings to develop, discuss, critique and polish main essay.  Develop supplemental essays unique to each specific college.

 

Career Assessment/College List Development

  • Assessment to help determine potential fields of study, if needed.

  • Develop college list based on interests, strengths, potential majors, and other college parameters of importance to student and family.
